Our Head Chef, Carl Simpson brings his love of food and great service to the Lighthouse Bistro & Bar.
Carl is a local chef who trained at Cornwall College. He worked closely with Mark Devonshire who was Rick Stein’s Head Chef at his cookery school. Developing his skills under Mark’s tutorage, Carl developed his passion for using sustainable and local ingredients. He is in the process of developing our own kitchen gardens with the Hotel’s Head Gardener which will produce the freshest herbs, fruits and vegetables to accompany his dishes.
“It’s about keeping it simple and uncomplicated with an emphasis on great flavours, our menus change regularly depending on what is at its seasonal best and our Specials’ Board offer the finest from the local markets”.

Look no further, fabulous fresh packed lunches are available; including pasties, freshly baked sour dough sandwiches and Cornish Crisps & drink. Order at reception by 9pm for the next morning £8.00 each

Willy Wallers’ Ice Creams – our absolute favourite ice cream! Made just down the road in St Ives. Available in some scrumptious flavours such as Honeycomb or why not try passion fruit sorbet, it is just perfect!

Aren’t we lucky?!! Not only do we have a stunning view from the hotel, we are spoilt with fresh local produce right on our door step! We buy the freshest, tastiest fish from just down the road and have it delivered daily.
